Delhi Traffic Advisory For New Year’s Eve: Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory on Saturday outlining all the necessary arrangements and restrictions in the city ahead of New Year’s Eve. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner of Police has warned of strict action against offenses such as drunken driving, stunt biking, reckless driving, and over-speeding. Traffic police will be deployed across the city in adequate numbers in popular spots like Connaught Place, Hauz Khas, markets, malls, and other celebration areas, a senior officer confirmed.
Key Details Of The Advisory
According to the Traffic Advisory, restrictions will be effective at 8 p.m. on December 31st and will continue until the end of the New Year 2025 celebrations.

Vehicles will be banned from proceeding towards Connaught Place in key areas, including Mandi House, Bengali Market, Ranjit Singh Flyover, and others. Additionally, vehicles except those with valid passes will not be allowed to enter the inner, middle, or outer circles of Connaught Place.
NOTE: Both private and public transport vehicles inside and around Connaught Place will face restrictions.
Guidelines For Parking On New Year’s Eve
- Parking Allowed: Gole Dak Khana, Patel Chowk, Mandi House, Minto Road, Press Road area, Panchkuian Road, KG Marg-Ferozshah Road, and Windsor Place.
- Limited Parking Spaces Available: Near Connaught Place (On first-come, first-serve basis)
NOTE: Violators will face legal consequences, with strict action under the Motor Vehicles Act, the advisory stated.
Traffic Diversions Around India Gate & Other Key Locations
In case of heavy pedestrian movement in and around India Gate, motorists will not be allowed to pass through key areas like C-Hexagon, Rajpath, Rafi Marg, and Mathura Road.
Restricted Areas: Bhairon Road/Mathura Road between Hazrat Nizamuddin and Pragati Maidan
NOTE: You may use public transport to visit India Gate as there will be limited parking space available amid New Year 2025 celebrations.
