‘Milo Was Beaten & Dragged’: Delhi Couple Files Complaint Against Noida Pet Boarding, CCTV Footage Emerges

Reports revealed that a day before the couple's scheduled return, the operator offered a free grooming session for their dog. Upon returning, they received a call again saying Milo escaped while being returned to the facility.

New Delhi: An elderly couple from Delhi’s Mayur Vihar left their dog, Milo, in a pet boarding facility in Noida before going to Vadodara to visit their son. Tragically, it turned out to be the biggest nightmare of their life after the family found out that Milo was dead. A disturbing video showed two young men dragging him by the leash on their motorcycle.

Following the incident, the elderly couple filed a police complaint against the Noida pet boarding facility. According to media reports, Nivedita Ghosh has accused the operator Swati Sharma of the pet facility of negligence that led to the death of their dog.

A probe revealed a CCTV footage captured two bike-borne men dragging the dog Milo by the leash. One of them, according to the Ghosh’s, worked in the boarding facility. They claimed that Milo ran alongside the bike and managed to break free. The next morning, he was found dead, likely due to a road accident.

NDTV quoted Ghosh, saying, “This has crushed us as a family. Milo was beaten and dragged on a busy road by the leash while two men rode the bike. We cannot come to terms with what exactly happened. We trusted them to keep him safe, and we found him dead.” The facility also refused to give Ghosh CCTV footage of the time Milo was there.

Pictures of Milo had circulated through social media, with many pet lovers, animal welfare groups and pet owners calling for severe action to be meted out against the boarding facility.

Swati Sharma claimed that the men in the video were not her employees. She alleged, “I was driving the dog back after grooming but forgot to child-lock the car. This resulted in the dog rolling down the windows and jumping out. I asked those two to help her catch him.”

“Yes, one of them struck the dog, but it was aggressive. We were with the family during their search, and I informed them when we found its body. People labeled us as murderers but I didn’t even charge the family for the 17 days of boarding,” she said.
