Metro To Your Doorstep! DMRC’s App To Allow Auto And Bike Bookings; Here’s How It Will Work

In a big move to make commuting easier for passengers, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has launched a new feature. This new feature allows ‘Smart Door-To-Door Travel’ with DMRC momentum Delhi Sarthi 2.0 APP. It enables commuters to book bike taxis and auto-rickshaws for first and last-mile journeys along with metro tickets in a single transaction. The new initiative will bridge the crucial gap between metro stations and final destinations, enhancing commuter convenience. It further eliminates the need for multiple bookings.

Delhi Metro To Offer Rides With Bike Taxis And Autos

The best thing about this initiative is that DMRC has partnered with Rapido for bike taxis and auto-rickshaws to provide this service. DMRC has also partnered with SheRyds, which is a women-led startup and offers bike taxi services exclusively for female metro commuters.

This initiative by the DMRC will facilitate commuters by offering them a one-stop solution for metro tickets and last-mile travel. It will further ensure quicker, cost-effective, and reliable connectivity with seamless rides.

Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC, said, “With the launch of this integrated service, we are addressing one of the most pressing challenges in urban commuting—first and last-mile connectivity. Sarthi-Momentum 2.0 makes metro travel more accessible, efficient, and convenient for all.”

How It Works?

1. When the user enters the destination; the app will suggest the nearest metro stations and best first/last-mile transport options.
2. A bike taxi or auto-rickshaw is booked to pick up the user from their location to the nearest metro station.
3. Before reaching the destination station, another ride will be booked for last-mile connectivity.
4. If the metro station is within walking distance, the app will not suggest a vehicle. However, a walking navigation option will be available soon.
