New Delhi Municipal Council (MCD) on Wednesday gave its nod to a proposal to change the name of Aurangzeb Lane to the name of former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. 

Now, Aurangzeb Lane will be known as A.P.J Abdul Kalam Lane

In a statement, MCD said that an agenda item was placed before the Council to consider renaming of Aurangzeb Lane under the NMDC area as Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Lane. 

In August 2015, NDMC changed the name of Aurangzeb Road to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road.
