‘Leave My Bike’, Said Assaulted Son; Father Killed With Bricks As He Came To Rescue

A 38-year-old man was beaten to death with a brick on Friday while he was trying to save his son from a group of boys in Delhi.

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 38-year-old man was beaten to death with a brick on Friday while he was trying to save his son from a group of boys in Delhi, police said.

The incident took place in Sanjay Colony area, Phase Two of Okhla. The victim, Mohammad Hanif, worked as a porter. According to police, his two young sons were also injured in the clash.

What Happened? 

It was 11 o’clock at midnight on Friday, Hanif’s 14-year-old son went out to retrieve his bicycle parked on the street. He saw a group of four or five boys sitting up there, blocking his way. He asked them to move but they refused. An argument ensued that quickly turned into a fight.

Hanif heard the noise and ran outside to see what was happening. He saw his son being attacked and tried to help him. However, the boys turned their backs on him and started hitting the father with bricks to the point where the man was critically injured.

Responding to a SOS call, a police team rushed to the scene and rushed the victim to AIIMS trauma center, where doctors declared him brought dead. Police have filed a complaint and are searching for the suspect.
