Kuttu Atta triggers health scare in Delhi, at least 200 fall sick; police alert Food department

Local shopkeepers, vendors, and residents are being sensitised through beat staff and public address systems during the festive season. The complaints were receive from Jahangirpuri, Mahendra Park, Samaypur, Bhalswa Dairy, Lal Bagh, and Swaroop Nagar.

At least 200 people have reportedly fallen sick after consuming Kuttu Atta at several locations in the national capital. On Monday, September 23, at 6:10 AM, information was received at the Jahangirpuri Police Station regarding a large number of people complaining of uneasiness after consuming Kuttu Atta.

Upon enquiry at BJRM Hospital, Dr. Vishesh Yadav, CMO, stated that around 150-200 individuals from areas including Jahangirpuri, Mahendra Park, Samaypur, Bhalswa Dairy, Lal Bagh, and Swaroop Nagar had visited the emergency ward with complaints of vomiting.

Delhi police told ANI that local shopkeepers, vendors, and residents are being sensitised through beat staff and public address systems during the festive season. The matter has also been communicated to the Food Department for further necessary action.
