Sadar Bazar: A two and a half-year-old girl became separated from her family and ended up in the Sadar Bazar area. Stranded and unable to find her way home, she began crying loudly. Concerned passersby approached her, trying to understand the reason behind her distress, but she couldn’t communicate clearly.

Realizing the situation, a passerby promptly contacted the Sadar Bazar police station and handed over the child to them.

In response, the police initiated Operation Milap, a search operation aimed at reuniting missing children with their families. They used mosque loudspeakers to repeatedly broadcast announcements about the missing girl throughout the Sadar Bazar area.

Fortunately, the girl’s mother, who had been searching for her child in a different part of the area, heard the announcement on a mosque loudspeaker about a kilometer away. She hurried to the Sadar Bazar police station in response to the announcement.

The police joyfully reunited the girl with her relieved mother, bringing a smile to the mother’s face and evoking heartfelt gratitude. According to DCP Sagar Singh Kalsi, the incident unfolded on August 9 around 6 pm when a concerned individual brought the girl to the police station and explained that she had been found crying in Kasabpura, Sadar Bazar.

The police officers, led by SHO Kanhaiya Lal Yadav, patiently communicated with the child, who was distressed and unable to speak coherently. Despite the language barrier, the officers used snacks and ice cream to comfort her, attempting to extract any information that could lead them to her family.

In their efforts to find the child’s family, the police collaborated with the local market, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), and also reached out to social media and WhatsApp groups. Inquiries were conducted within the neighborhood, and announcements were made through the mosque loudspeakers.

Their dedicated efforts paid off when, about an hour later at 7 pm, a woman arrived at the Sadar Bazar police station. She identified herself as the girl’s mother and provided information confirming her claim.

The mother explained that she and her daughter had recently visited her sister’s house in Sadar Bazar. The child had been playing with other kids outside her aunt’s house and accidentally strayed away.

The police successfully reunited the mother and daughter, culminating in heartfelt gratitude from the relieved mother for their swift and effective response.
