Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad Police on Wednesday arrested a man for allegedly physically assaulting his 9-year-old step daughter when her mother went to work.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Kaushambi Police Station, Swatantra Kumar Singh, a complaint was received by the Kaushambi police station about the alleged incident. After receiving the complaint, the police team were dispatched for the spot.
“The police team has traced the accused whose location was found at the Delhi Ghaziabad border,” he said.

“During the interrogation, the accused informed the police his plan of fleeing the country after committing the heinous crime. He was waiting for the bus and trying to go to Nepal,” Singh added.
The Incident:
The woman, originally from Nepal, had migrated to India in search of employment along with her second husband. She has been living in India for about eight months now, working as a domestic helper. Recently, she had summoned her 9-year-old daughter from Nepal to join her in India.
According to her account, a few days ago, her second husband had taken time off from work. When she inquired about the reason for his absence, he assured her that he would leave for work shortly. Believing his words, the woman proceeded to her workplace. However, during her absence, her daughter was left alone and was subjected to a horrifying ordeal. Her stepfather allegedly assaulted her.

Upon returning home later in the day, the woman was met with her daughter’s distress. The young girl tearfully confided in her mother, revealing the painful incident and the unjust actions of her stepfather. Shocked and anguished, the woman tried to contact her husband to confront him about the allegations. However, his phone was switched off, leaving her unable to address the grave situation.
