Rohini: Vijender Gupta is emerging as a strong contender for the chief minister’s role if BJP wins. With a solid track record that includes serving as the Delhi BJP president and winning the Rohini constituency in both 2015 and 2020, even amidst AAP’s strong performance, Gupta’s credentials are impressive. His experience as the opposition leader in the Delhi Assembly, combined with his established political presence, makes him a key figure in BJP’s leadership discussions.
Vote counting for Delhi’s 70 Assembly seats kicked off on Saturday, February 8, marking a crucial moment for candidates. In the Rohini Assembly constituency, the results will soon reveal the people’s choice. The polling took place earlier on February 5, setting the stage for today’s outcome.
A fierce contest unfolded between AAP and BJP for the Rohini Assembly seat in the 2025 Delhi elections. The key candidates in the fray were Pardeep Mittal (AAP), Vijender Gupta (BJP), and Sumesh Gupta (INC).
A total of 8 candidates were in the fray for the Rohini Assembly seat in the 2025 Delhi Assembly election. Pardeep Mittal (AAP), Harshad Chadha (BSP), Vijender Gupta (BJP), Narender Singh Panwar (IND), Rajbir (IND), Sumesh Gupta (INC), Abhishek (JMBP), Amit Saini (JSUP).
Rohini is one of the 70 Assembly constituencies in Delhi, situated in the northern part of the city. It falls under the North Delhi district and is an urban constituency with no reservation category. Rohini is also a part of the North West Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, which is designated as a Scheduled Caste (SC) seat.
The vote margin between both parties was only around 5,000 in the 2013 and 2015 elections. Two-time BJP winner (2015 and 2020), Vijender Gupta, will contest the seat for the third time against AAP candidate Pradeep Mittal. Gupta won the seat in the 2020 elections by over 12,000 votes over AAP’s Rajesh Nama ‘Bansiwala’.
In the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections, voters in Rohini headed to the polls on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. The results of the election will be announced today determining the next representative for this key urban constituency.
