Greater Noida West Society Hit By Contaminated Water, 500 People Including 200 Children Fall Ill

SM Rajesh of Greater Noida Authority inspected Ajnara Homes Society on Tuesday. During this, he checked the quality of water.

Greater Noida West: Panic gripped the Ajnara Homes Society in Greater Noida West after 500 people fell ill due to contaminated water. It is being reported that people are falling ill by drinking the supplied water. On Tuesday, the residents of the society got upset and created a ruckus in the maintenance office. They raised slogans against the management. In view of the continuous complaints of the people in the society, the team of Bisrakh CHC inspected here on Tuesday. A health check-up camp was also set up for some time. The camp will be set up again on Wednesday.

More Than 200 Children Fall Ill

The residents of Ajnara Homes Society allege that contaminated water is being supplied for the last four days. People are facing problems like vomiting, stomach ache, diarrhea after using the water. So far more than 500 people have fallen ill. Out of these, more than 200 are children. The management had got the tanks cleaned last year and cleaning work has not been done since then. Due to dirt in the tank, dirty water is coming into people’s homes. Residents allege that this is happening due to the negligence of the maintenance staff. These people are the reason for people falling ill.

No Improvement In Health

Resident Dinkar Pandey said that people are not able to go to office due to ill state. Children have to take leave from school. Many parents are bringing their children back from school midway due to ill health. This trend is increasing continuously and if it continues like this, the residents will have a lot of trouble. Also, they are not getting leave from office again and again. Furthermore, there is no improvement in their health.

Health Camp To Be Held On Wednesday

Bisrakh CHC doctor Vikram Singh said that a health check-up camp was also organized in the society on Tuesday. Some people were given medicines after the examination. A camp will be organized in the society on Wednesday as well. He said that people will be examined again.

Water Samples Sent For Testing

Meanwhile, maintenance in-charge Hemant Rana says that in view of the problem of the people, the tanks will be cleaned on Wednesday. People have been called from outside for this. Water samples have been sent to a private lab for testing and the report is awaited. He added that the allegations levelled on the maintenance management are wrong.

Greater Noida Authority Officials Reach Society

SM Rajesh of Greater Noida Authority inspected Ajnara Homes Society on Tuesday. During this, he checked the quality of water. Water tanks were found dirty in the society, which have been instructed to be cleaned. Apart from this, water samples have been sent for testing. Further action will be taken on the basis of the investigation report.
