New Delhi: Homeowners residing in Greater Noida West’s Galaxy Gaur City 2 expressed irritation as their society went through a water shortage for four days due to damages caused in the water pipeline. The person responsible for the maintenance assured the residents about restoring the water supply within a week. However, the people of Gaur City were not happy with the current situation and staged a protest, creating a roadblock outside the complex on Sunday.
The society members said that they were getting only an adequate amount of water supply from private tankers. Galaxy Royale resident Dilip Mishra said, “There has been no water supply in the society for the last four days. We’ve been getting water from tankers.”
Presence of other issues
While the other resident said that they had been facing the water problem for a few months now and it had become severe in the last four days.
But, it’s not all, society members said that along with the water issues, there were other issues too such as a severe lack of maintenance and services. In addition, Gaur City 2 has no access to the Ganga water supply for which the builder is at fault as he has not cleared dues with the Greater Nodia authority yet.
House to around 1500 residents, Galaxy Royale Society is under the control of the builder because of the absence of an occupation certificate (OC) and a pending completion certificate (CC). The building also lacks an Apartment Owners Association (AOA).
The Owner of the Galaxy Group, Pradeep Agarwalla explained the situation and said, “Water supply has been cut due to damage in the water pipeline. The water pipeline is currently two inches wide and should be at least four inches wide, and repairing it is taking time. The Greater Noida authority has taken over the repair work, and the problem is expected to be resolved within a week. In the meantime, we are assisting residents with water tankers and diverted supply.”
