Noida: In a recent incident that occurred in Greater Noida West, some residents claimed a leopard sighting. A video circulating online, reportedly from an under-construction Aura Society, shows a leopard-like animal, triggering panic and chaos among the residents. After receiving information, the forest department immediately launched a search operation. Pugmarks were found, resembling those of a wild cat.
DFO Appeals People To Avoid Rumours
However, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Pramod Srivastava appealed to the people not to believe in any kind of rumours. The footprints could be of a wild cat, he added. Reports revealed that the viral news of the leopard sighting in society led to panic, forcing people to lock themselves in their apartments. A search operation was conducted late at night. Police searched every place near the society to find the wild animal. Meanwhile, the authorities have advised people to avoid going out alone in the dark or send their kids to public places.
