One more arrest has been made in the brutal murder case of Nikki, a resident of Sirsa village in Greater Noida, who was allegedly killed by her husband, Vipin Bhati, on August 21, 2025. Nikki was initially rushed to Noida’s Fortis Hospital in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries while being transferred to Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital. Following the incident, police arrested Bhati and registered a case against his family members. So far, Bhati, his mother, and one more accused have been taken into custody as the investigation continues. The accused husband, Vipin Bhati, has been sent to a Judicial Custody of 14 days.
On the arrest of the mother-in-law, victim's father Bhikhari Singh Payla says, "The administration is working well. The monsters burnt her to death... I am happy that she (victim's mother-in-law) has been arrested. She is behind the entire conspiracy. It is a mother's work to educate the child. Instead of disciplining him, she encouraged him (victim's husband) further. They must be hanged..."

Nikki and her elder sister Kanchan tied the knot to brothers Vipin and Rohit, respectively, in 2016, but just after 6 months of marriage, their in-laws started torturing them for more dowry. When Vipin’s dowry demand for Rs 36 lakh was not fulfilled, he, along with his mother, brutally thrashed Nikki before setting her on fire on Thursday night (August 21).
