New Delhi: A new initiative has been suggested by the police department in order to cut down the hours-long traffic in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad.
Under new rule, the duty of traffic policemen will now be in two shifts. With this initiative, people are expected to get rid of the daily morning jam on the road. To reduce the problem of jam, policemen will also be deployed at the new location.
Will do duty in two shifts
New places have been identified to reduce the problem of road jam in the city. At all places where traffic jam is common, the police will be deployed to closely monitor the situation and to take the control.
Several checking points will be reduced so that there is no shortage in the number of police personnel for the duty of police personnel in two shifts. At present, the duty of traffic police personnel starts from 7:30 am and lasts till 10 pm. In between they get two hours’ leave.
Shift of 8 Hours Instead of 12
On the instructions of the Police Commissioner, to reduce the problem of jam in the city, the police officers have given their report after survey. The duty time of constables and head constables working in the traffic department has been changed from Independence Day.
After the change, there will be one shift from 7 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon and there will be another shift from 2 in the afternoon to 10 in the night.
Check Points Reduced to 152 from 186
The duty point of policemen has been reduced from 186 to 152. Meanwhile, several new places have been made checking points. The duty of policemen has been removed from many places by doing necessary work.
ADCP Traffic said the new system will be implemented from August 16. Feedback will be taken for a few days. After this, if any improvement is required, it will be implemented.
