After delay of years, Hindon bridge project’s construction work has finally begun. According to the reports, this project will reduce the travel time distance between Noida and the Greater Noida. Both the cities will be easily connected and traffic congestion will be reduced adding to commuters’ travel experience. It is expected to be completed by 2026
How Will It Ease Commuters’ Travel?
Hindon bridge project will provide smooth connectivity between Greater Noida’s LG Chowk to Noida sector 146. It will also reduce the congestion on Pari chowk.
This bridge will provide relief to the commuters heading towards LG Chowk and Surajpur by escaping the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway up to Pari Chowk. The travel distance will be shortened by 10 km.
This project is expected to boost the industrial development of sectors 151, 153, 155, 156, 157, 158, 160, 162.
Why Was It Halted?
The project was proposed in 2019, but it got halted due to land issue as the farmers weren’t satisfied with the compensation they were getting. The authorities had to buy the land at a new rate.
The Noida Authority had increased the compensation rate to Rs 5,300 per square metre from Rs 3,500 per square metre. The construction got started once the land was bought. The original deadline of the project was September 2020 but multiple delays have stretched it to 2024. The work resumed in 2023.
