There is a great news for commuters which can ease their travel experience along Delhi-Gurugram. The much anticipated Delhi-Mumbai Expressway’s main section is likely to be functional and open to the public by November 12. South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri confirmed that the road will be opened from near Madanpur village linking the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on November 12. The road will provide access to Palwal, Sohna, KGP, and KMP expressways.

More About This Stretch

This stretch will allow easy passage from Maharani Bagh in South East Delhi to Sohna in Gurugram. It will cut down travel time to 25 minutes; currently it takes 2.5 hours. The project costs around Rs 5,500 crore. This road can be used to travel to Faridabad, Palwal, and Sohna. The additional perk is that this will road will alleviate traffic congestion along the Mathura Road.

The expressway features an elevated section that cuts densely populated areas along the Yamuna riverbank. The elevated portion of the corridor passes through crowded areas including Batla House, Okhla Vihar, and Yamuna Khadar. A descending ramp has been built next to Maharani Bagh and would intersect the road close to the Ashram entry to the DND flyover, reported TOI.

South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri announced that six-lane highway and two bridges, one over the Agra Canal and the other over the Gurgaon Canal, are prepared for commissioning. Bidhuri said that this will provide a permanent solution to the problem of severe traffic jams at Mathura Road. It takes 2.5 hours to reach Sohna from Maharani Bagh, but after the opening of these bridges and the highway, the travel time will be reduced to only 25 minutes.
