Various reports suggest that the new BJP government is planning several upgrades for the Delhi Metro. One major upgrade under consideration is the introduction of overnight metro operations, allowing commuters to access its services 24/7. The overnight metro services will run at an optimal frequency across its extensive network, ensuring round-the-clock availability of both metro and bus services.
This move is expected to significantly benefit Delhiites who travel to neighboring cities like Noida and Gurugram for work or business, making their daily commute smoother and more convenient.
According to an ET NOW report, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is set for a major upgrade following the formation of the new BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) government in Delhi. The report also mentions that the DMRC Phase 5 corridor, which is currently in the pipeline, is expected to be fast-tracked soon after the BJP’s swearing-in.

The DMRC has three priority corridors and three additional corridors under Phase 4. The priority corridors are Majlis Park to Maujpur, Krishna Park Extension to Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, and Delhi Aerocity to Tughlakabad. Additionally, the Inderlok-Indraprastha, Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block, and Rithala-Narela-Nathupur (Kundli) corridors are also under consideration.

The new BJP government aims to push forward with Delhi Metro Phase V, working closely with the central government to finalize detailed project reports (DPRs) for all proposed routes by 2026.
