Gautam Budha Nagar: In the view of deteriorting air quality in Delhi-NCR, all the physical classes in Gautam Budha Nagar will remain close till November 10. The District Magistrate on Tuesday directed schools in the district to follow Graded Responses Action Plan (GRAP) Stage 4.
This comes as the bad air quality in Delhi-NCR is causing number of health-related issues to the people, especially the children. Keeping the potential of bad health of young individuals, the authorities have announced online classes of the children. In an order issued on November 7, the DM mentioned that in compliance of GRAP 4, all physical classes from Pre-school to Class 9 will stand suspended.
“In view of the poor air quality, all schools of the District Gautam Budha Nagar are directed to follow the implementation of the Graded Responses Action Plan Stage 4 order by discontinuing physical classes from Pre School to Class 9 up to 10 November and conduct lessons in online mode,” read the official notice by District Magistrate Gautam Budha Nagar.
The official order said the online classes should be conducted instead.
It should be noted that the move has been taken after parents objected sending their kids to school when the air quality had deteriorated too much that the city has turned into a ‘gas chamber’. They said letting their kids outside house is dangerous for their well-being.
