Flight operations delayed at Delhi Airport; Air India, SpiceJet, IndiGo issue advisory

Delhi Airport has confirmed the technical issue with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system. Travelers are advised to expect delays and check with their respective airlines for updated schedules.

Delhi Airport update: A technical issue with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system in Delhi on Friday is causing widespread disruptions in flight operations across all airlines, leading to delays and longer waiting times both at the airport and onboard aircraft. Several airlines have expressed regret over the inconvenience and released advisory. At least 100 flights have been delayed at Delhi’s IGI Airport due to ongoing ATC congestion. The Delhi Airport has also confirmed the technical issue with the ATC system, due to which flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport are experiencing delays.

“Due to a technical issue with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system, flight operations at IGIA are experiencing delays. Their team is actively working with all stakeholders including DIAL to resolve it at the earliest. Passengers are advised to stay in touch with their respective airlines for the latest flight updates. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused,” the Delhi Airport stated.

Delhi ATC glitch: Air India issues advisory

Air India issued travel advisory and stated that its cabin crew and on-ground staff are providing immediate assistance to minimize passenger inconvenience. The airline wrote, “A technical issue with the ATC system in Delhi is impacting flight operations across all airlines, leading to delays and longer wait times at the airport and onboard aircraft. We regret the inconvenience caused by this unforeseen disruption, which is beyond our control, and appreciate your patience. Our cabin crew and on-ground staff at the airport are extending immediate assistance to reduce passenger inconvenience.”

IndiGo warns of delays

IndiGo also noted the technical issues within the ATC and released an advisory, warning passengers of delays. The airline stated, “Flight operations at #Delhi Airport are currently experiencing delays due to a technical issue with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system. As a result, flight operations at Delhi and several northern regions are impacted. We understand that extended wait times, both on the ground and onboard, may cause inconvenience, and we sincerely appreciate your patience. Please be assured that our crew and ground teams are actively assisting and doing their best to make your wait as smooth as possible. SpiceJet Advisory

SpiceJet also warned passengers about the ATC congestion, which is affecting flight operations across the airport. “Due to ATC congestion at Delhi, all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights might get affected,” the airline wrote on X.
