Film City near Jewar Airport: UP Government approved the proposal of Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) for setting up the Film City along the Yamuna Expressway near Jewar Airport. It will be set in 1000 acre in Sector 21. The site of the film city is just six km away from the upcoming international greenfield airport and close to highways.

1,000 acres sanctioned for Film City

The film city will be set up in an area of 1,000 acres in its Sector 21. The UP government has floated tenders for two times but no companies have come forwarded to take the opportunities. Now the changes are being made in the development model of film city. Last month, these suggestions were placed during the Bid Evaluation Committee constituted for the PPP model project. Now these suggestions were accepted.

Nod to 4 new changes

According to the latest report from Lucknow, 4 major changes were discussed in the meeting of the secretary level committee. The government organised the meeting regarding these changes. These points were discussed in the meeting and later the changes were made. Now it will be kept in the cabinet. If the cabinet passes it, then the authority will take out the global tender for the third time. It is expected that the tender will be come out this month. This plan is being prepared to be completed in three phases.

Major changes

People associated with the film industry were demanding to make the licensing period 90 years. Earlier it was 60 years old. Now it has been 90 years. Earlier the moratorium period was four years. Now it has been increased to seven years. Earlier the revenue sharing fixed premium was Rs 116 crore and share in dividend. Now only share in dividend. Now only share in dividend. This will be five per cent of the total dividend.

Project development

The project will be developed in three phases. The first phase will be developed over 230 acres. In which film studio and backlog will be built on 156 acres. This will include indoor and outdoor locations, studios, sound and special effects studios, etc. for shooting. Film Institute will be built on 20 acres. Commercial activities will take place in 54 acres.  Villas, hotels, plazas and townships will be developed in this.
