Expressway Update: Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad Expressway To Kickstart After Being Stuck For 5 Years?

While the DPR is expected to take two to three months, authorities are yet to finalize the agency responsible for constructing the expressway. In a recent meeting, officials from Haryana PWD, NHAI, and the UP Government expressed support for transferring the project to NHAI, as it could involve funding of approximately Rs 900 crore.

The Public Works Department is gearing up to launch the Faridabad–Noida–Ghaziabad Expressway soon. However, uncertainty still surrounds the handling of the proposed work. Despite the project’s announcement in 2019, five years have passed, and the government is yet to decide on the agency to execute it. Among the agencies vying for the project are the Public Works Department (PWD), Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA), and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

What Does The Report Say?

According to sources in the district administration, while the PWD recently submitted a report on the project alignment, work on preparing the detailed project report (DPR) is yet to begin, the Tribune reported.
