200 High-Risk Escape Routes Criminals Use: Noida Police have intensified their crackdown on crime by identifying nearly 200 high-risk locations frequently used by criminals to flee the district after committing offenses. According to a report by the Times of India, approximately 200 strategic locations have been proactively identified across the city, including 137 in Noida, 19 in Central Noida, and 50 in Greater Noida.
Police have identified a total of 67 spots, which criminals use to escape from the district. At least 15 in Noida, 10 in Central Noida, and 42 in Greater Noida.
‘Escape Routes’ in Noida
In Central Noida, eight sectors have been identified with 75 patrol units in place, while in Greater Noida, nine sectors have been identified and 78 patrol units have been deployed. The police have stated that teams consisting of one or two male and female reserve officers, along with personnel from PRVA, PCR, and traffic police, have been deployed. A deputy inspector has been assigned to each location. According to reports, a comprehensive plan has been created, involving zone, sector, mobile patrol, foot patrol, picket, PRV, and PCR units. Mobile units have also been established.
Crime Rate In Noida
According to ‘millenniumpost’, In 2023, Noida experienced a decline in various crime categories compared to previous years. The city recorded 50 murders, down from 53 in 2022 and 74 in 2021. Crimes against women decreased by 21% from 2022, totalling 453 cases, including 30 rapes. Vehicle thefts also saw a reduction, with 1,098 incidents reported in 2023 compared to 1,336 in 2022.
In 2023, the Noida police launched a campaign to crack down on cybercrime. However, there has been an increase in crime in recent years, particularly in cybercrime and property crime. The police have also been working to improve community policing and increase police visibility in order to deter crime.
