Noida is one of the most sought-after locations for homebuyers. Every year, hundreds of flats under YEIDA are sold. While selling these flats, authorities make big claims of providing high-class amenities and facilities. However, the reality on the ground appears smaller than their tall claims.
In a report by Vishal Pratap Singh of News24 from Sector 22 D of Yamuna Authority, these claims are supported by the allottees.
What Did The Allottees Say?
RWA member, Arvind Sharma said that a meeting of RWA members was held, where several problems face by the allottees were discussed. He mentioned that Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) CEO, Arun Vir Singh was called for the meeting earlier, but the issues remain unsolved.
The allotments were made in 2013, and when asked about what has changed since then, the members revealed another side of the story.
One of the members said that the authorities were supposed to give them possession in 2017, but it was delayed by two years. He further highlighted that the society is not in a condition to be taken into possession. It was only due to the efforts and struggles of the residents that some improvement was achieved.
When asked to shed light on what YEIDA CEO had said and promised in earlier meetings with RWA members, the answers were surprising. The members said that the CEO had promised to visit every month and assured to resolve the issue.
They revealed that only 10-15% of the issues were resolved by the CEO so far.
Issues Faced By Allottees
The members also discussed about their demands that were made before the CEO. These include, direct road connectivity with the Yamuna Expressway. One of the allottees said that when he came in 2013, he was told that direct connectivity would be given; but it still remains only as a dream.
Another member highlighted issues such as poor roads, non-availability of schools, market, hospital, power supply and connectivity. RWA Member Kishore expressed his dissatisfaction with the Yamuna authorities and said that they have performed ‘havan’ for the wisdom of the authorities.
Another allottee stressed that the development of the society should be the priority of authorities and the CM. They have written several letters regarding their issues but nothing has been done.
Hawa Mein Udta Jewar?
The allottees are so dissatisfied that they have even agreed to handover the flats at lower rates. They summed up the whole situation by saying, ‘Hawa Mein Udta Jewar,’ which translates to ‘Flying Jewar.’
They also pointed out at false promises of YEIDA CEO by saying, “Wo Dhup Mein Batashe Talte Hain”- he says a lot but doesn’t do anything.
Notably, the video was shot three months ago, but the situation remains unchanged. There has been no improvement, nor any efforts to resolve the issues faced by the allottees.
