Encounter In Delhi’s Dwarka: Notorious Criminal Shot After Intense Gunfight

A wanted criminal named Akshay alias Golu was injured in a police encounter in Delhi's Dwarka area on Friday, according to Delhi Police. The incident took place around 5 am when police spotted Akshay near Jai Vihar Nala Road with a stolen motorcycle. The 30-year-old, a resident of Dharmpura, was wanted in a recent robbery case in Najafgarh.

Asked to Surrender, Opened Fire Instead

When the police asked Akshay to surrender, he refused and opened fire, shooting two rounds at the police team and putting their lives in danger. In response, the Najafgarh Police acted quickly and fired three shots to control the situation.

During the exchange of fire, Akshay was hit by a bullet in his left leg. He was immediately taken to the hospital for medical treatment. After the incident, police recovered a pistol and two live bullets from his possession.

Akshay Arrested Again

Akshay, a known criminal listed as a BC at Najafgarh Police Station, has a long criminal history. He has 13 cases registered against him so far. These include serious crimes like robbery, snatching, theft, and violations under the Arms Act.

Police have taken preventive action against him 10 times in the past to stop him from committing more crimes. Despite this, he continued his criminal activities. His most recent arrest was on 18th January 2025 by the police at Baba Haridas Nagar Police Station. He was booked under Sections 126 and 170 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS).
