“The authority aims to provide a safe and pollution free city bus services to commuters. The buses will cover the main routes including the government offices,” he stated.

This decision came in the wake of the previous plans of the authority to run a city bus service in Greater Noida, which did not materialize and the surging demand of the residents for a reliable city bus service.

The officials said that the date from when the services will be commenced in the city has not been finalized yet, but it is expected to start in the next two three months.

However, the residents of the industrial town hailed the announcement and said it will be a big relief.

Tanya Nirwal, a resident of the Supertech Ecovillage 1, said, “This will be a good move to provide the e-buses in the city as it is very difficult for us to commute from one place to another.”

“I have to take cab from my home to the office, which is costing me a lot of money, but it is the only safest travelling medium for me. The auto rickshaws in the area are swamped with the passengers making it difficult for the people to travel in it, especially female passengers,” she added.
