Traffic advisory: Noida Police has released a traffic advisory ahead of the Independence Day programs in Delhi and nearby areas, aimed at ensuring smooth vehicular movement around the national capital during the festivities. The advisory, attributed to security reasons surrounding the Independence Day events, outlines specific restrictions for various categories of commercial vehicles entering Delhi.
According to the advisory, heavy, medium, and light commercial vehicles will not be permitted to enter Delhi from 10 pm on August 12 until the conclusion of the full dress Independence Day rehearsal on August 13. Similarly, a restriction will be in place from 10 pm on August 14 until the culmination of Independence Day celebrations on August 15.
Alternative routes for commuters
In light of these restrictions, Noida Police has proposed alternative routes for commuters traveling between Noida and Delhi. Those intending to travel to Delhi or other states via Noida’s Chilla Border are advised to utilize the Eastern Peripheral Expressway by accessing the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway after making a U-turn at the Chilla Red Light. This maneuver is suggested to mitigate disruptions due to diversions.
Commuters driving to Delhi or other states through the Delhi-Noida-Delhi (DND) flyover can opt for a U-turn at the toll plaza and proceed towards their destinations via the Eastern Peripheral Expressway using the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
For vehicles en route to Delhi or other states via the Kalindi Kunj-Yamuna border, an alternative route involves diversion from an underpass before reaching the Yamuna River. Commuters can then use the Eastern Peripheral Expressway via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to reach their intended destinations.
In case of any queries related to road traffic, individuals can contact the helpline at 9971009001, as provided by the police. This advisory aims to facilitate hassle-free travel for citizens during the Independence Day celebrations, while ensuring security measures are upheld.
