Noida was established to support emerging urbanization during the Emergency period (1975–1977). It was created under the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Area Development Act, 1976, as part of a new initiative led by Sanjay Gandhi.

Noida boasts the highest per capita income in the entire National Capital Region (NCR) and is classified as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ). According to records, the Noida Authority is among the richest development authorities in the country.

Additionally, the riverside Okhla Bird Sanctuary is home to a wide variety of migratory and native bird species. Upcoming Initiatives

The Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, is scheduled to begin commercial operations in mid-2025. According to media reports, it will be a greenfield airport designed to enhance connectivity for Delhi NCR, Noida, and Western Uttar Pradesh.

Over the years, Noida has grown seamlessly to accommodate urban migration from across the country. Developments like the construction of the Delhi–Noida Direct (DND) Flyway in 2001 have further boosted the city’s accessibility and infrastructure.
