With Diwali just a day away, the Delhi police have ramped up security efforts across the national capital. A multi-layered security arrangement is in place in the city to ensure a safe celebration of festivities. In an official statement, the Delhi Police announced that special protective measures have been implemented at key markets, commercial hubs, and public places. Additionally, a large number of police personnel have been deployed across the districts to manage the heavy crowd and traffic movement.
Security Tighten Up Ahead Of The Festive Rush
The local Police personnel are backed by Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) as force multipliers to tighten up ground-level security during the festive rush. Comprehensive traffic advisories are regularly released outlining major regulations, diversions, and suggested designated parking lots. Important instructions are also being issued to the commuters to avoid inconvenience.
Anti-Sabotage Checks, Foot Patrolling Underway
Delhi Police is also organizing flag marches in busy high-footfall areas such as Chandni Chowk to oversee preparedness ahead of Diwali. Moreover, Anti-sabotage checks are also being conducted at interstate bus terminals, busy markets, and railway stations. Bomb Disposal (BD) teams and Dog Squads are fully equipped and ready.
Foot patrolling is underway to maintain law and order and identify potential offenders in crowded areas. Additional DCP Rishi Kumar Singh, ACP Karol Bagh, SHO Karol Bagh, and other staff from the Karol Bagh police station executed patrolling in the area.
Delhi Police Urge Residents
In a social media post, the Delhi Police urged residents to ‘share responsibility’ this Diwali along with the light. “Respect nature, buy only QR code-enabled NEERI-approved green firecrackers and burst them only during the stipulated period from October 18 to 20, 2025. Clean skies, pure air, and safe celebrations—that’s the true sparkle of Deepotsav,” the post read.
