On the auspicious occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, a unique shade of devotion and spirituality was seen at ISKCON Dwarka, when renowned Kathak artist Dr. Yasmin Singh won everyone’s heart with her soulful performance. A huge crowd of devotees reached to see this cultural program, where the divine leelas of Lord Krishna were brought alive through dance.
Dr. Yasmin mentioned, “I have come from Madhya Pradesh and my fellow dancers are from different parts of the country. We performed a dance on the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami. I feel fortunate to be performing on the occasion of Janmashtami today… We are very happy… The audience also enjoyed our performance a lot.”

Krishna Janmashtami is the festival of the incarnation of Lord Krishna. He is considered to be one of the most revered deities of Hinduism, who is a symbol of love, compassion and spiritual knowledge. His teachings still guide the lives of millions of people.
This festival is celebrated with reverence and gaiety with various religious activities like fasting, Dahi Handi, decoration of temples, Aarti and chanting of mantras.
In the performance of Dr. Yasmin Singh’s facial expressions, hand gestures and rhythmic footsteps moved the audience.
