Delhi Woman Attacks Delivery Boy with Knife, Assaults On-Duty Police Official

New Delhi: Delhi Police arrested a 42-year-old woman for allegedly attacking a delivery agent with knife and for assaulting a police office in Dwarka’s Sector 23.

According to a senior police official, the woman attacked the delivery agent when he sought her help regarding locating a address in South West Delhi’s Dwarka.

The incident was captured in the CCTV camera showed that on Friday the alleged crime took place in Dwarka’s Sector 23 in which the woman attacked the delivery boy three to four times with the knife.

In the video footage, a woman is observed walking past a delivery agent, who attempts to engage her in conversation. With swiftness, she turns around and strikes the man’s neck using a knife. Seizing the keys from his scooter, she tosses them into the nearby bushes, as captured by the camera.

The delivery agent dismounts from his scooter, and the woman forcefully topples the vehicle to the ground. An altercation ensues as onlookers gather, forming a small crowd. While engaging with the residents, the woman repeatedly attempts to slash the scooter’s tire with the knife for over 20 seconds.

Throughout this ordeal, she maintains a grip on the knife and positions her foot on the fallen scooter.

Even after the residents converge at the scene, the police report that the woman continues brandishing the knife menacingly. After her knife is wrested away, she seizes a stick and attempts to inflict damage on a police vehicle and other nearby cars.

The assault escalates further as she resists arrest by pulling at a woman police officer’s hair and scratching her. Eventually, she is apprehended and transported to the police station.

Local residents share that the 42-year-old woman resides alone as a tenant in the DDA flats. She reportedly has a history of initiating disputes with neighbors, but no previous action has been taken against her.

The delivery agent, identified as Golu, sustained multiple injuries and is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital. He recounts to the police that he had arrived in the area to deliver a package. When he requested assistance to locate an address, the woman responded with verbal abuse and subsequently launched an attack. He also alleges that she employed a brick to damage his scooter and pursued him while wielding the knife.

The woman now faces charges for endangering others’ safety and assaulting a police officer. The incident highlights the intensity of the confrontation and the need for legal actions to address her actions.
