Delhi Weather Update: Temperature Rises In Capital After Rain Relief, IMD Forecasts Hot And Dry Week

According to the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) forecast, there will be rise in maximum temperatures by 5-6°C during next five days in national capital.

Delhi Weather Update: The rainy spell in the national capital has ended with, marked rise in maximum temperature since Saturday, June 7. There has been an increase in maximum temperature by 1 to 2°C, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD forecast indicates that the weather is expected to become uncomfortable for residents, with rising temperatures in the upcoming week (June 8- June 15). Earlier, the continuous rainy spell, accompanied by thunderstorm and gusty winds had brought down the maximum temperature and provided relief to residents.

Weather Forecast For Sunday, June 8

The IMD forecast for Sunday, June 8, predicts a warm day with a clear sky and a maximum temperature in the range of 40-42 degrees Celsius. Dust raising winds with speed 20-30 kmph are likely to prevail over Delhi. The maximum humidity level is expected to be around 60 per cent. While the temperature has risen significantly, the IMD has ruled out any heatwave conditions for the day.

Forecast For The Upcoming Week

According to IMD’s forecast, there will be rise in maximum temperatures by 5-6°C during next five days. Here’s detailed forecast for the upcoming week.

June 9: Mainly clear sky has been predicted with dust raising winds of speed 20-30 kmph. The maximum temperature will remain at 41°C. The IMD has warned of strong surface winds during day time.
June 10: The sky will remain mainly clear with dust raising winds prevailing during day time. The maximum temperature will remain at 42°C.
June 11: Strong surface winds will prevail during day time. The sky will remain clear with maximum temperature at 43°C.
June 12: Mainly Clear sky is expected with maximum temperature at 43°C.
June 13: The weather may change from Friday as the sky will turn partly cloudy with maximum temperature in the range of 41-43°C.
June 14: Partly cloudy sky with maximum temperature at 41°C is expected on Saturday.

The IMD has issued no specific warning throughout the week and heatwave conditions are also not expected.
