Delhi Weather Update: Rain Revives The City After Weeks Of Heat, IMD Forecasts More Showers, Thunderstorms Till July 10

As the sultry weather caused discomfort to many, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert over Delhi for the next two days.

Delhi Weather Update: After weeks of intense hot and humid conditions, Delhi finally breathed a sigh of relief on Friday. The monsoon clouds brought heavy rainfall over several parts of the city, from Safdarganj to Pusa, and from Mayur Vihar to Rajghat. Meanwhile, the showers cooled down the national capital, including the NCR region.

However, due to the torrential rains, many low-lying areas experienced waterlogging and heavy traffic jams. Residents might wake up to a cloudy sky on the 7th of July, as light rain is expected to lash the city, bringing much-needed respite. IMD has predicted similar conditions accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning on the 8th, 9th, and 10th. However, there might be occasional heavy rains in some parts.

Moreover, overwater hazards could affect daily activities, not to mention the traffic. Additionally, rain would offer a significant reduction in temperatures below the 35-degree mark. Residents are advised to carry an umbrella while stepping out in such weather.
