Delhi Weather Update: Morning Showers Bring Relief, IMD Issues Yellow Alert For Thunderstorms – Check This Week’s Forecast

Delhi Weather Update: Delhi woke up to moderate showers on Monday morning, providing relief from the recent spell of heat. The rain, though brief, has cooled down the city, and turned the weather pleasant, hinting at monsoon’s strengthening grip in the region. Early risers witnessed glistening roads with commuters facing little disruption due to congestion at several underpasses.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there has been a significant fall in maximum temperature over the capital due to the rainfall. The rainfall is part of the monsoon system currently active over northern India, bringing moisture-laden winds and intermittent showers throughout the region. The maximum temperatures are in currently in the range of 33-35°C.

Forecast For Monday, July 7

The weather will remain pleasant on Monday, July 7, with light to moderate rainfall expected during the whole day. A yellow alert for rainfall accompanied by occasional thunderstorms and lightning has been issued by the IMD. The showers are expected to bring a drop in temperatures and a fresh, breezy atmosphere across the city. Due to the cloud cover and rainfall, the maximum temperature will remain at 33°C.

While, the weather will be mostly cool, the relative humidity is likely to remain high, offering a damp feeling. A humidity level of 90 per cent has been predicted for today.

The national capital is set to remain under the influence of active monsoon conditions throughout this week (July 7-13). The sky will remain generally cloudy each day. Residents can expect light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, with daytime temperatures ranging between 32-35°C until July 12.

While the rain offers break from intense heat, residents are advised to exercise caution during thunderstorms.
