Delhi Weather Update: IMD Issues Yellow Alert For Rain! Showers And Storms To Linger All Week – Check Forecast

The northern limit of monsoon continues to pass through Veraval, Bhavnagar, Vadodara, Khargone, Amravati, Durg, Bargarh, Chand Bali, Sandhead Island, and Balurghat.

Delhi Weather Update: Delhi residents are going to experience extended relief, as the rainfall will continue throughout the week. After reeling under scorching heat over the past few weeks, a noticeable change in Delhi’s weather has been observed. The maximum temperature has dropped significantly and is currently in the range of 34-35°C.  The sudden changes in weather have brought much-needed respite to the people. Notably, the shift in weather conditions has been influenced by an active western disturbance.

Delhi Weather Update: Forecast For Tuesday, June 17

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for today. Thunderstorm accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds have been predicted for Tuesday, June 17. The sky will remain partly cloudy. Gusty winds with speed 40-50 kmph temporarily reaching 60 kmph are expected during thunderstorm towards evening/night. The maximum temperature will remain around 35°C today.

Weather Forecast For The Week

According to the IMD, rainy spell will continue throughout the week. Here’s detailed weather forecast for remainder days of this week:

June 18: Light to moderate rain/ thunderstorm/ lightning have been predicted. The sky will remain cloudy with maximum temperature at 36°C. A yellow alert for rain is issued by the IMD.
June 19: Generally cloudy sky with moderate rain is likely on Thursday. The maximum temperature will remain around 37°C.
June 20: Rain and Thundershowers are expected on Friday. The maximum temperature will remain at 38°C.
June 21: The maximum temperature will remain at 37°C, with rain and thunderstorm predicted for the day.
June 22: Rain or Thundershower is expected. The maximum temperature will remain at 38°C. Partly cloudy sky and gusty winds are predicted.

Southwest Monsoon Advances Further

Meanwhile, the Northern Limit of monsoon continues to pass through Veraval, Bhavnagar, Vadodara, Khargone, Amravati, Durg, Bargarh, Chand Bali, Sandhead Island, and Balurghat. According to the IMD, conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest monsoon over remaining parts of North Arabian Sea; some more parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh; remaining parts of Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Odisha; some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand; remaining parts of Northwest Bay of Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal; some parts of Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh during next 2- 3 days.
