Delhi Weather: Delhi continues to reel under a ‘very poor’ air quality, with no relief expected in the coming days. Smog shrouded several areas amid a biting chill on Sunday morning as the Air Quality Index (AQI) plunged to 305 at 7 am. Amid a sharp dip in temperature, most residents stayed indoors and avoided outdoor exercise.
Several monitoring stations, however, registered AQI readings under the ‘poor’ category during the early morning hours today. The area around the North Campus was covered by a layer of smog as the AQI dipped to 203 under the ‘poor’ category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
AQI readings in other areas of Delhi Today
Wazirpur registered an AQI of 214 under the ‘poor’ category this morning, while the air quality slipped to 211 in Sonia Vihar. ‘Poor’ AQI of 208 was also recorded in the Chandni Chowk area at 7 am today.
AQI plunged to 238 in Jahangirpuri, while nsit Dwarka recorded an air quality index of 183 at 7 am on December 7. The other areas include Rohini (262), Bawana (257), Vivek Vihar (210), Patparganj (206), Nehru Nagar (219), Siri Fort (223), Ashok Vihar (214), Dilshad garden (193), Okhla Phase 2 (212), Lodhi Road 2 (192), Najafgarh (181), and Sri Aurobindo Marg (196).
Delhi weather forecast for next 5 days
The Air quality is unlikely to get better anytime soon in the national capital region. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is no forecast for rain in the next five days. Delhi will see a partly cloudy sky on December 7, with mist/haze over the city during the morning hours. The Weather Body has warned of surface wind blowing at a speed of 15 to 20 Kmph during day time.
Mainly clear sky along with mist/haze is expected over the capital on December 8. Thereafter, on the 9th, skies will mostly remain partly cloudy. Thereafter, shallow fog will continue to blanket the city until December 12.

Delhi AQI: Check forecast for next two days
According to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi, the air quality will likely be in the ‘very poor’ category until December 9, 2025. The outlook for the subsequent 6 Days shows the AQI in the ‘very poor’ category.
