Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory on Christmas today in view of huge crowds at popular spots such as churches, malls, and markets. Authorities have ensured comprehensive arrangements to avoid any possible inconveniences during the celebration.
Security personnel have been deployed at various key locations, a senior officer told PTI. According to the officer, an intensified crackdown on drunk driving would be put in place and would remain in effect till New Year.
The Delhi Traffic Police has outlined traffic restrictions around Select Citywalk Mall in Saket due to the expected surge of visitors. The restrictions will be immediately effective from 2 pm on Christmas to ensure smoother traffic flow and less inconvenience to commuters.
Traffic Restrictions & Affected Routes
- Median Closures: All median cuts between Sheikh Sarai and Hauz Rani will be restricted.
Heavy Vehicle Ban: DTC and Cluster buses, will not be allowed on either side of Press Enclave Road.
Alternative Routes
- For Commuters Traveling From Chirag Delhi To Qutub Minar: The Khanpur Red Light T Point route via MB Road to Mehrauli.
From IIT flyover To PTS: Take Aurobindo Marg towards Mehrauli, then TB Hospital Road Red Light route via MB Road to Lado Sarai.
- DTC And Cluster Buses: Restricted from MB Road/Asian Market Red Light towards Pushp Vihar.
