Delhi: Three people were left critically injured after a speeding Mercedes G-Wagon car rammed into the pedestrians near Ambience Mall in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj on Saturday night. According to reports, the G63 car veered off the road and struck the pedestrians.
The blow was so severe that the victims, aged 23, 35, and 23, identified as employees of a restaurant, were thrown with full force several metres away, leaving them with severe wounds. According to eyewitnesses, the Mercedes car appeared to be speeding, and the driver seemed unable to steer the vehicle moments before the crash.

The injured, found lying on the spot, were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care. During a medical examination, Rohit (23), a resident of Uttarakhand’s Chamoli, was declared brought dead, while two others are reported to be critical. According to the Police, the vehicle has been seized for forensic examination. Additionally, the car driver, identified as Shivam (29), has also been apprehended.
Delhi Police said, “At the time of the incident, he was driving the vehicle along with his wife and elder brother. As per preliminary enquiry, the vehicle lost balance due to a diversion, resulting in the car hitting a pole where the three victims were standing at an auto stand. The alleged was reportedly returning home after attending a wedding. The offending car belongs to Abhishek, a friend of Shivam. Necessary legal action is being taken as per the law.” The CCTV footage from the area is currently being reviewed to determine the exact cause of the tragic event.
