The incident was discovered on February 6 when the police got information from Safdarjung Hospital about a pregnant minor being checked by doctors.
A 62-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a minor girl in Pillanji village, southwest Delhi, an official said on Sunday.
The official said that on February 6, the police got information from Safdarjung Hospital about a pregnant minor having a medical check-up. The police team went to the hospital and collected medical records.
The police officer mentioned that, “Initially, the girl claimed that she was in a consensual relationship with a boy for a year. However, upon further questioning, she revealed that her neighbour had sexually assaulted her four months ago. She stated that he took her to his room and raped her,”
The man allegedly threatened the girl with serious harm, which scared her. Because of this, she first gave false information to the doctors.
Based on her statement, the police registered a case and arrested the accused in Sarojini Nagar. Officials said that the investigation is still going on. They are collecting more evidence and speaking to people related to the case to find out the complete truth.
