The recent threat follows a series of other similar incidents in the national capital over the last few months. On July 18, more than 50 schools in Delhi reported bomb threat emails one morning resulting in panic and mass evacuations. Notable targets included St Xavier’s in Civil Lines, Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, Abhinav Public School in Rohini, and The Sovereign School in Rohini.

In July, threats were reported to St Stephen’s College and St Thomas School in Dwarka, a day after three other schools in the city had received almost identical hoax emails. At least seven other schools were affected on July 17, the third consecutive day of similar threats.

Police traced one of the hoax emails to a 12-year-old boy in south Delhi, who said he sent the email as a prank. He was questioned, counselled, and sent home.
