Delhi Pollution: The air quality in Delhi remained in the ‘very poor’ category, as AQI was recorded at 318 at 7 am on Saturday, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The Air Quality Index (AQI) in most areas of Delhi Today was measured at over 300. November has been the hottest in the past five years, with both daytime and nighttime temperatures reaching their highest levels, according to reports.
AQI recorded from other parts: Mundka (626), Rohini (418), Jahangirpuri (386), Narela (239), R.K Puram (298), Anand Vihar (521), Pusa (236), and Punjabi Bagh (367).
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the temperature had fallen below 10°C for the last time since 2019. Reports revealed that the night of November 29 was the coldest of the season so far. The average minimum temperature in November was 14.9°C, which is approximately 2°C higher than the long-period average (LPA) of 13°C.
The Supreme Court announced on Thursday that the GRAP-IV, the strictest stage of anti-pollution measures will remain in force till Monday, December 2. Schools are now allowed to operate in a hybrid mode given the challenges faced by students with limited or no internet access, the court said.
The Apex court noted lapses in the implementation of GRAP-4 guidelines and emphasised the need for strict enforcement. It also issued warnings to officials responsible for such failures.
