Delhi Pollution: The AQI in the national capital stood at an alarming 342 under the ‘very poor category at 6 am on Monday after constantly remaining in the ‘poor’ category for many days. The sudden shift in the air quality is due to various contributing factors such as low wind speed, vehicular emissions, temperature drop, stubble burning, etc. According to IMD, Delhi experienced a sharp decline in minimum temperature up to 3°C during the past 24 hours. There will be mainly a clear sky in the city till December 18.
The Maximum and Minimum temperatures in Delhi were recorded in the range of 21 to 23°C and 5 to 08°C respectively. With a dip in temperature, the city is likely to experience a surge in cold waves and pollution levels in the coming days.
