Delhi Pollution: Air quality in the national capital continues to remain in the ‘poor’ category on Saturday morning. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the AQI was recorded at 214 on Saturday at 6 am. A thin layer of fog also gripped parts of Delhi, affecting visibility. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Delhi are expected to remain 23°C and 7°C, respectively, today. The minimum temperature recorded on Friday was 9°C.

Cold Wave Sweeps The Capital
As the cold wave conditions prevail over national capital, night shelters have been set up in several areas of the national capital like Jama Masjid and Nizamuddin flyover.
Speaking to ANI, Roshan Thakur a tourist said “I've arrived in Delhi, and it's freezing! My hands and feet are numb from the cold. The chill is unbearable...the cold weather is quite a challenge. It's especially tough for the elderly and children, who can't venture out in the mornings. Despite the cold, I've noticed that children are still attending school, braving the chill. Some kids are even getting ready as early as 4 am, accompanied by their parents on the way to school.”
Another tourist from Chhattisgarh, Rahul said, “I'm freezing! I'm looking for a jacket shop. As I'm from Chhattisgarh, I'm not used to this kind of cold. Back home, I can roam around without a jacket, but here, my hands are shivering.”
Roshni Kisharwani a tourist who had come to visit Delhi said, “I came here to visit and arrived at the station early this morning. I asked some locals to guide me to India Gate. It's extremely cold here, but I'm enjoying the weather. It's even chillier than I expected, especially compared to back home.”
SC On Delhi Pollution
The Supreme Court on Thursday heard the case related to air pollution in the national capital. The apex court asked Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) states to take a final call on prohibiting the use of firecrackers throughout the year.
The Supreme Court also ordered that its earlier order on the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) will continue to remain in effect until further orders. It has also directed the Commission for Air Quality Management (CQAM) to proceed with the implementation of the modified measures to improve air quality in Delhi.
