Delhi Weather Update: Delhi is currently witnessing a significant improvement in the air quality. The air quality continues to remain in the moderate category. Moderate AQI has brought relief to residents. The AQI was recorded at 121 on Thursday at 6 am, according to the CPCB. While the AQI remains moderate, there have been changes in weather conditions over the national capital. There has been rise in maximum temperature over Delhi but winter chill persists as a result of cyclonic circulation and weather pattern.
Weather Takes A Cold Turn
Delhi has been experiencing strong surface winds which is caused by the western disturbance which currently lies in Pakistan. The strong winds have resulted in chilly morning and weather throughout the day. There have been changes in maximum and minimum temperatures as well. The data by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) shows an appreciable rise in temperature. Maximum temperature is reaching up to 29 degrees Celsius, whereas minimum is recorded between 12-17 degrees Celsius. This data indicates that days are turning warmer/ milder. However, due to the impact of western disturbance, Delhi is witnessing relatively chill weather.
IMD Weather Forecast For Delhi
The IMD has predicted strong surface winds (25-35 kmph gusting to 45 kmph) likely to prevail over Delhi on Thursday, 6th March. The maximum and minimum temperature will remain 29 and 13 degrees Celsius respectively. From 7 March, the maximum temperature is expected to soar 30 degrees Celsius.

AQI Forecast
According to the Air Quality Early Warning System For Delhi, AQI is likely to remain ‘moderate’ from 6 to 7 March. For the next six days, the air quality is likely to be in the Moderate to Poor category. Also, forecast by IMD/IITM predicts the AQI to mainly remain in ‘Moderate’ category in coming days. The reason for this will be higher wind speeds and favourable meteorological conditions.
