Delhi Pollution: AQI Improves To ‘Moderate’, Thunderstorm And Rain Expected In Capital

The maximum and minimum temperatures will remain 23 and 17 degrees Celsius respectively. According to the Air Quality Early Warning System For Delhi, the AQI is likely to be in the moderate category from 28 to 1 March.

Delhi Pollution: Air quality in the national capital has improved to ‘moderate’ after remaining in the ‘poor’ category for two days. The AQI was recorded on 111 at 9 am on Friday, according to the CPCB. Sudden weather change, light rain, strong surface winds and other favourable meteorological conditions have led to the improvement in the air quality. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorm with rain in Delhi later today.

Weather Forecast For Delhi

The maximum and minimum temperatures will remain 23 and 17 degrees Celsius respectively. There has been a markedly rise in minimum temperatures and maximum temperatures over Delhi-NCR during the past 24 hours. Delhi’s weather will undergo changes this week, as rain has been forecasted on 1 March. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 28 degrees Celsius while minimum will be recorded at 17 degrees Celsius this week. Mist will prevail during morning hours over Delhi from 2 to 5 March.

Delhi Pollution: AQI Forecast

According to the Air Quality Early Warning System For Delhi, the AQI is likely to be in the moderate category from 28 to 1 March. For the next six days, air quality is likely to remain in the moderate category.

Anti-Pollution Measures In Delhi

Seeing the improvement in the air quality, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Monday revoked the actions under Stage II of GRAP in Delhi-NCR. Actions under Stage-I of GRAP are currently in effect. The order further stated that the forecast by IMD / IITM predicts the AQI to remain in moderate/ poor category in coming days.
