Delhi Pollution: Light rain on Thursday morning brought significant relief to the residents of Delhi from the poor pollution levels. The city woke up to ‘moderate’ air quality after remaining in the ‘poor’ category Friday morning. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 197 at 6 am today, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Though the air quality has improved, the temperatures are likely to remain on the cooler side.
Moderate fog was observed in different parts of Delhi/NCR in the early hours of Saturday. As temperatures dropped in the national capital, people took refuge in the night shelter homes to escape the chill. Although the AQI has improved to ‘moderate’, the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi forecasts the air quality to probably stay in the ‘poor’ category till the 26th of January.
