Delhi Pollution: What’s Behind The Surge?
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Thursday, 29 January invoked GRAP Stage III restrictions after noticing sharp increasing trend. Reasons for the increasing trend included variable direction/ calm winds, smoggy situation, low mixing heights and ventilation coefficients for dispersion of pollutants. Furthermore, the forecast from IMD/ IITM suggested similar situations to persist in coming days.
