Delhi Pollution: Air Quality Sees Improvement, AQI Remains ‘Moderate’; GRAP-I Curbs Revoked

On Monday, the city recorded a decline in the minimum temperature up to 4°C and slight fall in the maximum temperature up to 1°C. The maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded in the range of 7 to 28°C and 9 to 11°C, respectively.

Delhi Pollution: The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on Monday revoked Stage-I of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) of the extant schedule, with immediate effect. This move comes after the air quality stayed in the ‘moderate’ category for the past few days. Delhi recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 153 at 6 am today, March 4, 2025, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

The CAQM Sub-committee said, “AQI of Delhi has improved considerably in last few days due to the favorable meteorological conditions prevailing in Delhi-NCR, increased mixing height and higher ventilation coefficient.” The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts the AQI to mainly remain in the ‘Moderate’ category in the coming days due to higher wind speeds and favorable meteorological conditions.

What To Expect In The Coming Days?

With strong surface winds reaching a speed of up to 30 kmph, upcoming days are expected to witness improved air quality. IMD predicts the days to be warmer ahead in Delhi/NCR with clear sky and mist till the 6th of March 2025. There are no specific warnings issued for the city by the Met Body.

AQI reported in different parts of Delhi at 6 am on Tuesday, March 4, 2025: Okhla Phase 2 (166), Alipur (168), Rohini (196), ITO (129), Ashok Vihar (166), Mundka (193), Anand Vihar (189), Wazirpur (221), Jahangirpuri (180), Narela (155), DTU CPCB (164), R.K. Puram (134), Pusa IMD (125) and Punjab Bagh (149).
