In a shocking incident, a minor housemaid was found dead in her employer’s bathroom in Vasant Kunj area of Delhi. The deceased has been identified as resident of Vasant Kunj, who was found hanging from a shower pipe in the bathroom. She had been working at a man named Deepak’s residence for a month and a half. A case into the matter was registered at Vasant Kunj (South) Police Station on Wednesday, April 16. Police stated that her age is currently under verification and is estimated to be between 14 and 20 years old. Her parents have claimed that she was around 17, while others at the scene estimated her age to be around 19-20.
The deceased originally hailed from Raebareli district in Uttar Pradesh. Police stated that upon investigation, it was found that she had been working as a housemaid at Deepak’s house in Vasant Kunj for the past one and a half months.
How Was Her Body Discovered?
The investigation further revealed that on the day of the incident, she had arrived at work around 8:00 a.m. The employer wasn’t at home and returned with his wife, and children around 4:00 PM. They all went to sleep after that. However, when the house cook arrived at 6:00 PM in the evening and rang the doorbell, there was no response from the maid. This prompted a search in the house, and her body was discovered in the bathroom.
Police have registered a case and sent her body to Safdarjung Hospital for post-mortem examination. Further investigation is underway to determine her exact age, her background and circumstances surrounding her death. Meanwhile, her parents have called it a murder case.
In another incident, a woman was shot and killed on a service road near MIG flats in Delhi’s GTB Enclave on April 15. Police were alerted through a PCR call reporting a woman found with gunshot injuries. On reaching the spot, Police found the body of the woman, around 20 years old, with two bullet wounds.
