Delhi Metro Yellow Line Extension Approved! Direct Route From Samaypur Badli To Sonipat; Details Inside

The extension will boost connectivity in the NCR region. Commuters of Delhi, Haryana, and Noida will benefit from this.

Delhi Metro Yellow Line: Metro commuters in Delhi will soon benefit from the expansion of Yellow Line. Yes, the Minister of State for MoHUA, Tokhan Sahu has confirmed the extension from Samaypur Badli to Sonipat via Nathupur. The Yellow line expansion will transform the travel experience of Haryana commuters. Commuters heading to Sonipat or coming towards Delhi will have the option of direct travel via metro. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has granted in-principle approval for the Delhi Metro Yellow Line extension. Sahu provided the information in a written statement to Lok Sabha, as a reply to the question of Yellow line extension from Samaypur to Narela.

Government Approves The Extension

Sahu further confirmed the approval for DPR preparation, which is considered an important step in the beginning of any project. “Central Government provides financial assistance to an urban rail-based system based on feasibility of the proposal and availability of resources, as and when posed by the concerned State Governments/UT Administrations,” Sahu added.

How Will It Benefit Commuters?

The extension will boost connectivity in the NCR region. Commuters of Delhi, Haryana, and Noida will benefit from this. It will reduce travel time, provide safe commute and accessibility to several region. Furthermore, it will be an affordable ride as compared to taxi, private cab or any other mode of transportation. This project will also enhance regional development with growth in infrastructure.

The Yellow line spanning 47.2 km, at present connects Samaypur Badli to Millennium City Centre in Gurugram. It connects Delhi with Gurugram and from interchange at Rajiv Chowk, passengers of Noida are also benefitted. The line serves 37 stations and provides eight interchange points with other metro lines.
