As the National capital prepares to celebrate Diwali, Delhi Fire Services (DFS) on Monday has put up plans to ensure a safe “Festival of Lights.” According to reports, the department has canceled all leaves and day-offs for its staff and officers on October 31 and November 1 for maximum deployment.
DFS chief Atul Garg said, “Around 3,200 firefighters will be on duty to handle emergencies. we are fully prepared.” He added that the fire services control room receives the maximum number of calls during Diwali, so the firefighters need to be alert.

On November 1, more motorcycle backpack units will be dispatched to nine sites and QRTs will be deployed at seven sites. Areas slated for water tender deployment comprise Tilak Nagar, Lajpat Nagar Central Market, and Gandhi Nagar Market, among others.
